"Our Fair Share": Why Independent wants to defeat LNP MP

In an article in the Gold Coast Bulletin published yesterday I stated that one of the reasons I’m running as an independent is because we need a representative who can fight for our fair share and put the Gold Coast first—not party politics.

“We’re not getting our fair share of funding here and we haven’t been for a really long time because we are such a safe seat. 

"Our council is doing all the heavy lifting, delivering major projects that should have had both state and federal support.  

“We need community-led solutions and expert contribution to our big issues. We are facing challenges that shouldn’t have got as bad as they have, especially housing and cost of living. I know everyone is talking about this, but on the Gold Coast we are facing one of the worst crises for housing affordability.

“We are already seeing our front-line workers, emergency workers, childcare workers and hospitality workers being pushed out of our region because of housing affordability—this is hurting our business, and we can’t keep sitting on our hands".
