Today I thank Voices of Moncrieff for endorsing me to run as a community-backed independent candidate for the electorate of Moncrieff at the 2025 Federal election.
Following a long process of consultation with our community, Voices of Moncrieff has today announced it has made the endorsement.
“We are delighted and proud to endorse Nicole Arrowsmith as the community-backed independent for Moncrieff at the next federal election” said Karen Aguilera, Spokesperson for Voices of Moncrieff.
“There is real desire in our community for something different to what the major parties offer. Locals are frustrated at being overlooked because we live in what’s considered a ‘safe’ seat for the LNP. Nicole Arrowsmith will be a strong, independent voice that will stand up for our community, not party politics”.
“I am humbled for the backing to contest the next election. What I know with certainty is that everything about the community movement is right. It is in service to our community, is serious about our future and holds our role as custodians to the environment in the highest order. It is a tremendous privilege”, Nicole Arrowsmith said.
“We’re not getting our fair share of funding here and we haven’t been for a really long time because we are such a safe seat.
“I’m not a career politician - I’m a working professional who will step up and tackle our unique challenges. As a community independent I’m backed by a movement of locals determined to put people over party politics. This is a new way of doing politics where everyone has a say and together, we can collaborate and build the future we choose.
“With support from our community I want to use a term as Moncrieff’s community independent in Parliament to force more ambition from Canberra on the issues of priority for our community - from cost of living to transport policy, housing affordability and protecting our environment”.
Tomorrow, Sunday 2 February, Voices of Moncrieff will be officially launching Nicole Arrowsmith as community-backed independent candidate for the 2025 Federal election.
